Before delving into a few fun facts surrounding laser hair removal and reduction, we would like to specify what we are talking about. Laser hair removal and reduction is a type of laser that aims at reducing and removing hair from a specific body area. There are different kinds of this particular laser. If you’d like to know more about them, follow us and you’ll find out so much more in the next few weeks.

As most people know, in the last couple of years the technology of lasers has improved a lot. In fact, at our clinic, we own the latest ones in terms of advanced technology. Most of them are for laser hair removal and reduction. So let’s find out what is hidden behind this life-changing treatment.

1. Home “Lasers”

Our first fun fact is about “home lasers”. You might then wonder what is the connection between the two. The truth is that most home lasers are not exactly lasers but intense pulse light devices (IPL). As the wavelengths of these “lasers” are shorter, usually 3 W, the results are that they don’t work as much because they don’t reach deep enough within the skin to reach the follicle and cause permanent reduction to growth. This is because it would be dangerous if they were stronger as the lasers we own at the clinic need training. To make you understand better, the lasers at the clinic are 3000 W which is why appropriate training is needed. At Laserase, we also offer laser training. Click here to know more about it.

2. Glasses

Whenever you get a laser hair removal treatment, you’ll have to wear specific glasses because of the lasers’ strong power that could damage your eyes. There are different types of glasses which means different colours and shapes. Before this, it is important to be aware that the glasses have to be made for lasers. They have to be clearly marked that they meet the wavelength requirements for safety, protecting the retina from damage. This is all part of the laser training that we provide in our academy, alongside all machine sales.

3. Different Levels of Sensations

Traditional laser hair removal is quite painful but the lasers we own at our clinic are more modern. They possess an ice-cold head that counteracts the laser’s heat. That way, the laser is basically painless. This is also because the settings are going to be targeted to your skin type and pain tolerance. As a result, if the intensity is higher the cold setting can be turned up meaning that they almost cancel each other out.

4. How Many Sessions?

According to many different factors, clients see different results. For some clients, a few sessions are enough to completely remove hair from the targeted area but for others, it might take more sessions. Hormones, medications and so many other elements have an impact on the results as well. If you’d like to know what to expect as a first-time client, click here. Below, there is also an explanation about why clients get different results.
